1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use MuseTap (iOS app) and its companion HiMuseTap (macOS helper app). MuseTap’s core functionality is to enable discovery, pairing, and remote control between your devices over your local network (LAN).

2. Information We Process and Why

We aim to minimize data processing and do not upload personally identifying data. To provide device discovery, pairing, control, and wake features, the apps process the following information on your devices:

2.1 Information You Provide

• Pairing code: You enter a pairing code displayed on your Mac to establish a trusted connection and authorize control.
• Content you send: Only when you initiate it (e.g., remote typing, executing shortcuts) and only to perform the requested actions on your Mac.

2.2 Device & Network Information (for LAN connectivity)

• Local network service information (Bonjour): Used to discover your Mac on the local network and establish a connection.
• Device name: Used to display and remember the last connected Mac.
• MAC address (for Wake-on-LAN): Used to broadcast WOL magic packets on your local network to wake your Mac when you use wake features.

2.3 Local Storage

To improve usability and provide features, MuseTap may store locally on your devices: paired device information (e.g., pairing codes, device names, MAC address mappings) and shortcut configurations.

3. What We Do Not Do

• We do not require account registration and do not collect login credentials.
• We do not integrate third-party advertising SDKs and do not perform cross-app tracking (no Tracking permission required).
• We do not upload your pairing code, shortcuts, typed text, or device information to our servers (the current version does not operate a backend/cloud service).
